Lyons Township High School Obituary: Patricia Bramsen

Patricia Bramsen, affectionately known as Peach to many, has left an indelible mark on those who knew her. The successful artist, poet, and long-time resident of Boulder, CO passed away peacefully in her beloved Mapleton Hill bungalow on June 20th, 2023.

Born in Chicago, IL, Patricia was the daughter of Bernard and Elsie (Wedoff) Schurman. She attended Lyons Township High School, where she laid the foundation for a life marked by creativity, compassion, and dedication. Her academic pursuits continued at the Evangelical School of Nursing in Chicago, where she graduated with honors in 1958.

Patricia's professional journey took her to Park Junior High School in Lagrange, IL, where she worked as a school nurse. She also started her own business, developing, designing, and marketing her own greeting cards. Her passion for cooking led her to participate in special events at several United Methodist Churches alongside her husband Bob.

Throughout her life, Patricia was surrounded by an abundance of loved ones, including her daughters Carin and Kirsten Bramsen, twin sister Virginia (Wylie) Milnikel, older sister Annette (Wylie) Pitcher, son-in-law Daniel Prebutt, granddaughter Lena Bramsen, and numerous extended family members, friends, and caregivers. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the Elizabeth Nursing Home for their care and compassion during Patricia's final months.

Patricia is survived by her husband Robert, her son Grant (Cindy) Turley of Aurora, IL, daughter Deann (Bob) Dahlquist of St. Charles, IL, two granddaughters Savannah Turley and Ashley Dahlquist, as well as numerous other loved ones.

A funeral service will be held at 11AM on Saturday, November at the Furlong Funeral Chapel in Galena, where friends are invited to gather from 9 AM until the time of service. Patricia's legacy will live on through the countless lives she touched during her remarkable journey.
